A weeks gone past…
And once again I will point my finger at the demon of time consumption, the master of time disaster. lol. My employer Adkisn Printing. Well. actualy. I've been out skating a lot lately. Even more than I have in the past realy. I've been spending atleast two - three hours skating a day lately. I can feel my knee joints getting kinda loose. Either that or their just being bashed on so they feel a little sloppy n' painful. I've bashed my shins n' knees up pretty good lately. I've been practicing a lot so i can pretty much tear the skatepark up when it opens. This winter was completely awsome for skateboarding here in Missouri. I bet I only missed about a half a days worth of skating in any given week except or a short two week stretch of rain.
Lets see what I've been working on.
Lip Slides - I've been grinding away at learning solid backside lipslides. Their pretty easy to do, it's just going fast enough and landing in them solid enough to be able to bust a trick out of em. somethin like BS Lipslide, shoveit, then dismount with another shoveit or a small kickflip.
50-50's - I've been working on shove-it to FS 50-50 with ollie out and kickflip to FS 50-50 with ollie out. I'm not real good at landing solid enough to bust out a kickflip off or even ollie off very well. kinda sucks. but I'm workin on it.
Varials - I've been working on my flatland varials. I can stomp em out most the time no problem.
360 Shove-its - I can't quite scoop enough without gettin a half a flip on the board but I'm startin to get the hang of it. It's a but unnerving trying to snatch a board outta the air you had to spin hard enough to make a full 360' revolution. heh.
Kickflip Gaps - I'm workin on more control with my kickflips. I'm starting to be able to snatch the board out of the air before I land so I can kickflip down little three stacks n' off curbs n' over stuff.
Shove-it Gaps - I'm the most solid at shove-its so I'm learning shove-it -> anything tricks. shove-it manual. shove-it gaps, shove-it to grind etc. etc. etc. It's nice to tweak out every trick by throwin a shove-it in if ya got an extra second of time.
Manuals - My manual skill lacks but I'm starting to find the hole for balance. I can't even nose manual at all. Starting to drive me nuts. I don't know where the balance is. I think i should start skating switch more n' work on my all around balance.
Primos - Workin on still primo's, primo slides, and primo-tricks. I can lock up from a slow roll and make short primo grinds but nothing real fancy yet. I can also pop a primo FS or BS still and at a slow roll. I can't quite lock up a primo to primo flip.
Ollies - I don't beleive anyone should ever stop working on their ollie. I've (after way to many years) got ollies locked down to a fine science and havn't run across many stairs (stacks) I can't ollie down after warming up a bit. I can also ollie up quite a good distance. I can ollie up a regular three stack but thats about where the hieght and control end. I'm working on speed and hieght. ollying over train tracks from the edge (start) of the railroad tie to the other edge where railroad tracks meet the road seems to be helping. You hafta catch a grip of speed n' hope to god you don't fall short n' lock up on the track or railroad tie.
Setup - this is a rough spot for me. I'm working on my setup speed. I can throw the board down and kickflip or ollie almost right as I land on it but I can't say ollie onto a 1' brick slap or up a stack and then immediately repeat the action. I require 4 or so seconds to setup for my next trick. I'm trying to learn how to wipe that time down under 1 second setup time. 1 second of hauling ass on a skateboard covers a serious distance. I need to get my time down.
Anyway. thats all street crap. The skatepark will bring a plethera of vert tricks to the table I can practice. I've already got a good running start on vert from having built a half pipe in my back yard skating that almost everyday for a year and being a frequent skatepark conisour. hehe.
I love to skate. and now I'm considering selling skate equipment. It dawned on me when I saw some kids just standing in awe watching me skate. They talked about their boards and asked me for info on what I skate n' my advice etc. The kids 'round here are askin me to sell em a skate or some equipment at a super affordable price (the same way I go for myself) . And as if it wasn't enough I had a co-worker ask me what skateboard costs just two days ago possibly considering taking up the sport. I killed his dreams by letting him know the true down-lo on learnign to skate (pain). but the fact that i could sell skates while skating is a double for nothin kinda deal. Wether I sell any skates or not I'll ride em. lol. I'm a skater. I need to get bulk equipment to make it cheaper for myself if nobody else and i could make a buck, a few friends, and maybe some decent busienss connections slangin skates while I'm out and about.
Also doesn't hurt that I know two or three people with storefronts that would let me toss my skates that I'm not carrying on me in a window for a super small fee or free. I don't think I can argue with any of those facts. *makes a few bulk orders*

I'm roughly $250 short to order everything I need to complete my decent selection of affordable pro skate setups. I wish my budget could be instantly extended becuase there are a few deals on ebay I realy wish I wouldn't have to pass up like getting a lot of wheels up for sale . something like 40 sets for under $3/set . pro company logo wheels none the less. can't pass up an insane deal like that. same with a grip of completes and partials. Ebay can rock sometimes but I doubt I'll see that deal again anytime soon if I don't hit it before it's over. Business is hot =)
