I've known about these things for quite some time, read about em quite a bit, and seen em spammed on ebay for like $5. Figured I might post about it and see what kind of response it brought about.

Is it Legit.?.?.
Yes. Everyone and their momma (including me) has at one time or another thought the freeipod scam was .. a scam. I didn't realy think anything of it until I joined a website forum about Honda cbr600rr motorcycles. They had sticky threads to help others get people to signup under them. Brilliant plan if you ask me. The most amazing part is people are actualy recieving the Ipods. heh.

How does it work.?.?.
You click someones link, or you can signup fresh (but that would be lame as hell considering you could help someone else out). After the initial signup you have to complete a registration process with one of the vendors listed with their site. Some of them cost money but a few *such as the fax service* allow a free 15 - 30 day free trial. Those are the ones you signup for. I signed up for the fax service, gave them my credit card info etc. etc. Then cancled my service before the 30 days. It takes about 15 or so days for it to register with freeipods that you had completed the offer. As soon as freeipods.com says you have comlpeted all your requirements EXCEPT refferering friends you can cancle your subscription with whatever service you signed up for a free trial on.

Now the wait. This is where you add your 'FREE IPOD' signature to all the forums you chat on, spam it a bit on your regular IRC channels, and hit yer buddies on instant messangers up. All you need is 5 refferals that go green (complete an offer). The overall process if you don't put any effort into it takes 4 - 5 months. It's not something that takes any work, just patients. If you don't have an Ipod now then it's realy not that big a deal.

Seeing as the sites been there for quite some time and most likely won't be going anywhere I don't see any risk in taking the oportunity to signup, cancle a $12 subscription (if you forget) to the fax service and waiting. I've had mine for a few months now and have a few people signed up. I'm starting to get interested in a Free Ipod so if you have a few minutes please use my link to signup.

Some people I know that have recieved them offer $5 to anyone who compeltes the process and goes green. If you REALY want an Ipod, thats something you can do.

This blog has to much spam. hahaha.
