$this->work = new BSD($server);
I just finished setting up a new BSD server. Paul seems to be having troubles with to many of his employees surfing the net accomplishing zilch. Of course the immediate answer would be to simply block all sites except his webapp but since the option to bring his webapp in-house arose, I took it. Everything still backs up to the webserver but it is almost completely setup to be 100% local now. No more lag, no more downtime (not that lag or downtime were real issues).
After installing a fresh copy of FreeBSD I also installed…
X
fvwm2
vncserver
wget
openssl
ssh
php5
apache2
mysql5
ruby1.8
noip (resolve dns2ip, makes life easy)
Pretty simple.. all in all it took 'bout 15 minutes to get it all hooked up. ( I don't sit around while the crap is compiling )
