X.. the Ruby Bot.

Muahuahuahuah! Becuase I have an irc server up I couldn’t help myself, I just had to make a bot. It’s not ready for the general public yet but when it is I’ll throw it down under the My Creations menu. The Bot (from here on out known as X) is being built in Ruby and is, as all my other creations, extremely simple and easy to mod. This guy is going to serve as a worms game server helper as well as a simple channel protection bot, infobot, and maybe if I’m real quircky, a Trivia bot. I’m trying to figure out exactly how the whole module/plugin thing works so I can just create ‘the bot’ and offer certain plugins for it to do tricks.

Seriously, all an IRC bot does is parse and act upon the text being mashed through the channels it resides in. (No Fserv DCC crap) I’ve got the Socket connection crap done and the bot class that lets it run and parse so as soon as I can figure out how to work the ‘plugins’ It’ll be ready to go. In the mean time you can visit the feeble little bot named X on the exiles irc server.
