I’ve been biking everyday for who knows how long and if I have learned one thing it is that excersizing in the morning helps you sleep and makes you feel better overall for the whole day. If I go out there and pickup my heart rate around 6.am before going to work at 7 (aside from the first day or two of doing it) I feel a lot better with a crapload more energy. Now I will switch it up. I was talking to a friend (Mason) about a gym here in town so I had to check it out last night. I participated in a 10 minute orientation at 5:30pm and then excersized for about 30 minutes. Mostly cardio. I was bleeding sweat since I’m not used to working out in-doors where the temperature is higher than even my house but it felt good at the time. Today though, I feel rather shoddy. Normaly, when I excersize I sleep good and wake up like I willed myself to just ‘be awake’. Not so this morning. I’m setting opinions a bit early in the game but excersizing at night gave me more energy at night and didn’t help me sleep wheras excersizing in the morning gives me energy all day and helps me sleep.
Let’s see how this pattern holds true. I am being very hasty with the fact I realy only did warmup excersizes to get to my target heart rate for about 15 minutes AND it is the first time I excersized in the afternoon. Not something I usualy do.
When do you guys excersize and what kindof workout is it? I work on cardio mostly & favor the bikes & jogging machines. how lame is that? hehe.
With my shifts it’s kind of weird picking a specific time to work out. Generally speaking I find if I work out before going into work, then I feel energized and pumped for the day. This week for example, I am working midnights, so I will hit the gym around 7pm before work.
I alternate days of weight workouts and cardio workouts. My fave has to be the eliptical machine. Once the spring/summer arrives I will be outside on my bike a lot more. N. wants us to train for a decathlon or some such madness together. He’s utterly nuts.
