Everybody loves Del.icio.us

Here is a quick guide for creating those “Bookmark This on Del.icio.us” links.

This is the initial link you will need.
http://del.icio.us/post?

Following that you may add the details.

The URL of the site you want to bookmark is of course immediately the most important.
url=http://www.burnmytime.com

The Title
title=whatever you want

The Notes
notes=these will be notes

The Tags (each tag is seperated by a space)
tags=blog liquid haqur houghtelin

Now if you put them together seperated with a semicolon, you will get your final product.

Some Details:

• Replace spaces in your link with %20
• If the url contains data tied with & replace them with %26
• Replace http:// with http%3A%2F%2F

This should be enough to get you off the ground. With this information you can pretty much drop a ‘Bookmark this on Del.icio.us’ link anywhere you want. I used this information to add the Del.icio.us bookmark link to the social site PD in order to let users bookmark any written works posted on PD. The only problem I ran into is the tags get dropped for some reason. I think it has something to do with being logged into delicious becuase it forwards you to your personal post link and drops the tags.
