I’m trying out a new ‘thing’. Zippy has been dieting and being healthy and what not so I figured drinking a lot of carbonated high fructose corn syrup was something I might ‘quit’ doing to be .01% healthier. In general I’d drink 6+ cans (72oz+) of soda a day if I didn’t run across a fountain drink. I think it’s that Hardee’s medium fountain soda that’s 32oz or something crazy like that and since I drive a lot I would get one of those quite often. It just can’t be good to inject large amounts of the smallest section of the Food Pyramid on a regular basis. I think I’m going to let my insulin level drop for a while and see what it does for me. I cut off from drinking a ‘lot’ of soda quite some time ago. For the last week or so I’ve been on this ‘no soda’ kick. I never thought drinking a lot of water would be so satiating. There are so many high quality alternatives to Pepsi, coke, or my favorite, Dr. Pepper that there seems really no reason anyone should flood themselves with the stuff.
Do you drink a lot of soda?
“Do you drink a lot of soda?”
No I don’t drink it at all I have never liked it. I used to drink coffee but I quit doing that as well. So pretty much water or fruit juice for me. Every once in a great while I will drink some tea.
Man, that’s spot on. I guess I never realy realized how worthless soda is untill I realy started actively thinking about it. Cheers to not having a caffinee dependancy!

I am not much of a soda/pop drinker - unless it’s to mix rum or some wonderful cocktail. Caffeine however…yikes…I am a coffee/tea drinker - water on occasion. It certainly is something I should try and change.
So you are nicotine and soda pop free eh? My god lad, you’re gonna be going all vegan-tree hugging on us next! lol
Sue, I am not nicotine free =(.. I failed for the third time. I have however got everyone else that lives w/me to quit smoking so my turn to break the ball and chain is now. It’s just a matter of being successful at it.
So much for tree hugging.

God d@mmnit! quit smoking all ready! That sh!t will kill you quicker than you can imagine. One of my closest friends had his mom die when he was really little from that sh!t which means she was in her 30s. If you have smoked since high school you could be at risk of cancer already. Which is worse dying or not having a stupid smoke? I quit dipping and smoking on the same day. I used to do them at the same time. I would throw in a a dip of copehagen and light up a cigarette. If I was that addicted and quit then so can you.
OK - call me naieve…but wtf is dipping? (Scuse my french)
Sue,
It is this stuff:

I can’t believe you managed hitting both at the same time. I’ve built the will power to quit before. I just need to do it again. I have to manage avoiding the 3month gliche next time where I forget why I quit and stupidly start smoking again. I don’t dip though. I’ve never got anything out of the stuff. I heard of some people attempting to quit smoking by occasionaly dipping or something but I don’t quite get it. Cold turkey with mad will power seems to be the only way that works for me.
