Friday I drove to Butler County Courthouse to oversee a recount. Essentially I just sat there and answered questions about the vote tabulators as they came up. As 11 O’clock came around I started to get what I thought were some viscous hunger pains so around 11:30 I took a quick 15 minute break to get a Sonic chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries. After I ate lunch the pains got significantly worse. I thought it might be the food since my body rejected it on me twice. It never hurt so bad to throw up in my life. I somehow managed hiding the fact I was really sick until about 3:30pm when I told the Judge, Clerk, and some other County officials that I had to go and asked for directions to the hospital.
I checked myself into Butler Hospital and was processed pretty quick. A bunch of people saw me and pushed on my stomach which made me practically jump out of my bed. They all said I had suspicious signs of appendicitis. They made me drink a few glasses of red dye and hooked me up to an IV of saline solution. It wasn’t long before I got a CT scan. Shortly after the CT scan my nurse came back in to the room and told me I had appendicitis and had to decide where I was going to have surgery done. I was told that one of the best doctors to do this was in Lee Summit so they made the arrangements and shipped me off to Lee Summit hospital in an ambulance. I was submitted directly to surgery. I met my surgeon, Norman Mutchnick, M.D. as I was being prepared for surgery. Not 30 minutes after I got there I was in Surgery having my worthless appendix removed. Zippy was at the hospital as they were wheeling me out of surgery and took this video. I don’t remember this video being taken so I can only assume I was still pretty drugged up.

All I have to say is if having my appendix removed is minor surgery, I don’t ever want to have major surgery done. My stomach and right shoulder hurts like hell. Apparently there is still air inside me from the surgery so I’m just waiting for it to pass and then I should feel better. It seemed crazy to me that I woke up Friday absolutely fine. I checked myself into Butler Hospital Friday afternoon and was undergoing surgery Friday night at Lee Summit hospital. After all that I walked out of the hospital Saturday afternoon. I guess my next battle will be with my insurance company. Joy.
This is the Nurse @ Butler hospital as she was walking into my room to tell me I needed to pick a surgeon.

Three holes. That’s it. It’s supposed to be the least painfull way to go. I’m just lame.

I don’t belive it will leave much of a scar. It’s just three little holes. It will heal completely over time.
