After the General Elections on November 7th my election work will wind down to virtually nothing for a little over a year. I’m overdue to get back into coding. Over the last two weeks I have pulled up a handful of my main projects and started hacking away.
I used to be gung-ho about creating new projects from the ground up but I have to say it’s entirely more entertaining working on huge projects that already have all the ground work laid out. It’s far more exciting slightly bettering, refactoring, or otherwise altering working code to make it more functional. It seems like once I get into one project real deep I can get locked into scripting until my brain needs to shut down. I almost couldn’t peel myself away from it last night. I love it. There is something about creating working things out of my imagination to meet the next day’s deadline that keeps my mind running fast and the excitement level up. Even after I complete all my deadline requirements I still can’t peel my eyes away because once those motors start running there is always another block of code that can be made better.
I am thoroughly interested in picking up one large project this year. If I could manage another large project it would unbind my financial ties to any one physical location. That’s not a bad goal. It’d be even easier if I could just push my ridiculously thorough Telemarketing application suite on a few other companies. I can’t imagine a better way to be securely employed then working on one large application suite leased to multiple companies. We’ll see how it goes. Hack Hack Hack…
note: I’m skimming that new PHP5 book I got. Now will be a good time to start upgrading everything to PHP5. I know I’m late catching up to the bandwagon.
Hey, Josh I know where some big money is! It’s in very large data bases. I hear that the data is four dimenional.
The shitty applications I use would never make it past the Beta phase, but it is what I’m using.
People Soft SUCKS shit.
Create something better than that and You’d make Billy Gates look like a pauper.
OH, by the way, HI!!

Peoplesoft sucks. I’m working on an all encompassing office management package right now.
