I bought this little 5 speed ‘93 Eclipse last night in Forsyth, MO. I’ve been looking around for a winter ride since it started getting cold. Let’s see how long it lasts.
What it is…
Fun to drive.
Runs great
Extremely Fuel Efficient
Heater works great
What it isn’t.
It has no balls.
Has a strange hickup in the cold idle.
No cruise control
No power windows, doors, etc.
This will bring the count of automobiles I have to 4 cars, 1 pickup, and 1 work SUV when I need it. The pickup (1991 Dodge Dakota) is broke and I should get rid of it. The Honda Prelude (2nd gen ‘85 auto) works but is kind of annoying. The ‘63 Dodge Polara works but I’m not messin with it until I get a garage and a lot of free time to burn so I can hack out a restoration job some day. The Supra (’91 5sp 7M Turbo) is camping out right now. We are going to rip the current engine out (although it’s fine with lots of mods now) and swap it with a 2JZ-GTE twin turbo engine for kicks. I hope to have the Supra ready to burn up tires by summer time so I can drive something with a set of balls. I believe I will visit my property in the spring and eliminate all the vehicles I’m not regularly driving. Fun stuff.
Gosh I feel so middleaged and suburban in my nice white Chevy Malibu in comparison! LOL
Good for you! Hope you have fun tinkering with your cars!
Hehe. Can’t say I’ve ever owned a Malibu. I usualy end up with weak little sports cars I drive like go-karts. I just put an mp3 player in the eclipse today. Good stuff.
