RC Helicopter, The Aero Hawk.

Wow. Everyone you’ll ever meet will probably tell you that flying an RC Helicopter, whether they have tried or not, is said to be extremely difficult. Even the hobby shops will tell you, “You are going to crash this”. I think that general way of thinking needs to be molded slightly to, “You may never figure out how this works”. It’s more difficult to fly one of these things then I thought. I’ve never tried to fly an RC Helicopter before so I picked up a little trainer set. Two trainer helicopters, two controllers, and a grip of extra parts. Thanks Chuck!

I will post some videos when I figure out how to fly em. So far I’ve learned that the more time you spend preparing them to fly after a crash the better the chances of getting it to maintain flight. I’ve also learned that everyone else in the house gets extremely jumpy when you try and fly a helicopter in the living room. It hurts like a mug when you get hit by these things as they spiral out of control. I got attacked and hit quite a few times. Katie took a prop to the lip during one crash landing. I was being silly trying to fly them around the house since it was dark outside and they like to shrapnel when you crash em. Good stuff.

A close-up. They are seriously small. The bulk of the helicopter isn’t any bigger than the palm of your hand. The picture of Katie working on one below puts it into perspective.

They really look like cheap little fragile pieces of plastic crap but they are amazingly flexible and strong (read: durable). I can’t believe how bad I crashed it a couple times yet no damage was done. Everything on these is built to (safely) shrapnel or bend before it breaks.

Katie managed to put the second one together while I wrecked the first one a bunch of times.

I didn’t get any pictures of them with their skins on but one looks exactly like the picture below and The other one is a red full bodied shell which kind of looks like a news chopper or something. (you can see the red body on the box in the first two pictures)
