Rumba! Energy Juice. hehe

Rumba!

It’s energy juice! Hehe. I can’t tell whether they put any energy in the juice but I do like the oddly thick consistency and light citrus flavor. It almost tastes like some generic fruity V8 knockoff. I’m a little amazed they are still pumping out new energy drinks like they are. I figured this whole energy drink genre would have come and gone by now but amazingly enough those 3x huge Monster energy drink cans are still up there consuming whole cooler doors with the rest of the energy drinks. Goodbye corn syrup and hello energy juice. ^_^ If there is no ‘new’ energy drink on the shelf to try I usually stick to my water. Clean, fresh, tasty water. It seems that kicking soda out of my diet was easier and has been more fulfilling than I thought. As with many other things it seems the taste of any soda is almost overwhelming at this point. I like an occasional root beer now but water just feels better. Energy drinks are even more overwhelming at times like the cough syrup Monster drinks but I still like to taste the new ones as they come out. (note: I get about as much energy out of a glass of water as I did that Rumba.)

Dude, you really got me thinking about dropping sodas and going back to milk, like when I was growing-up. I used to drink a lot of water too.

But, I don’t have the fortitude to quit diet pop. (no calories)

Keep me posted.

I don’t drink soda/pop at all - other than the occasional mix with alcohol. Never tried an “energy” caffeine drinks like we see on the supermarket shelves these day…but coffee and tea? Oh I am definitely addicted to those! Tried going caffeine free once and I ended up with the shakes and a headache.

Speaking of addictions…did you manage to quit smoking?

Dad: Milk is for baby mammals. Not the best thing to drink a lot of anyway. ^_^ Fruit and Vegetable juice however is absolutely fantastic! As is water of course.

JustSue: I have a lot of tea I absolutely love but I cannot seem to get into the habbit of making myself some on any regular basis. It’s not quite the same as setting the coffee pot to automaticly start at 6:am it seems. (although I do not drink coffee either). Any tips for the would-be tea drinker? And no.. I have yet to quit smoking. I am working on finding peace of mind, then I can better myself. Lots going on lately. I do however need to spray paint that on my wall. “QUIT SMOKING TODAY!”.. Might help.

There’s definatly a lot of healthy shit here in Japan. Green tea has got to be number one. My friends and i buy a huge bottle of it and when we’re running low, go buy some more (fast and easy). Sushi, of course is prolly how the 40 year old women still pass for 22. Even their fast food is healthy, cept for the mcdonalds part. anyhoo… my number one healthy drink is red wine. I’m trying to keep it down to 2 to 3 glasses a day, but it tastes so damn good. it’s supposed to help prevent cancer, and help the heart, and prolly some other stuff, but those are definatly top 2. They call it the french paradox, cause all french eat tons of saturated fats, smoke like chimneys and are twice as healthy as us, cause of their daily red wine intake.

As you know I have stopped and started smoking more times than I care to remember. Last time I was off the dreaded weed from the time I signed on the dotted line for the new house in August til the beginning of December. (Bad shift, Christmas stress, and other assorted excuses). I am trying again as of the New Year. It’s not easy.

Tea I find easy-peasy to make. Put the kettle on, put the bag in the cup, add water when it’s boiled and presto! My grandmother would roll over in her grave. She was very particular about using a proper tea pot, warming the pot first, water at the right temperature (a rolling boil), loose tea leaves (not bagged) etc etc.

Hurm. I thought about it after I made that post. I think I just need to get my tea kettle out of it’s box and put it next to the sink. I have some great tea Zippy brought down not that long ago and have not made. I’m not sure how many bags go to a pot but I’m sure it’s an easy detail to work out. Since I’m moving into my new (old) apt I’ll be sure to get that setup and see if I remember to put it on the stove tommarow morning. hehe. I usualy drink a lot of water in the morning. I bet a spike of tea would be quite a change of pace. Coffee is too overwhelming.
