Uncle Sam Loveth Me.

I had a good friend of mine prepare my taxes today. I’m always glad to see a little money come back from the government although it’s still insane to see how much money they actually get to keep. Don’t get me wrong, the total amount of money Uncle Sam gets from me wouldn’t pay the Presidents salary but seeing the numbers and knowing I have zero control over it is annoying. Yet somehow, millions of Americans will be smiling and cheering because Uncle Sam wrote them a check so they could have some of their own hard earned money back.

Wouldn’t it work if you and 10 other employee’s making say 50,000$ a year switch to 1099s pool your tax money in an interest bearing account and pay everyone’s taxes out of that account at the end of the year? I can’t see how that wouldn’t work. But then again, aside from reading a few less than entertaining books, I have never cared to understand how our tax system works.

Oh well, I’m told that as long as I continue to claim zero I will not have to pay any ‘more’ than what is already taken right off the top. Big thanks to Stratton’s Bookkeeping & Tax Service for helping get my taxes straight. Atleast someone likes doing it. Hehehe. I get annoyed at the thought.
