Camping at home
We’ve got a septic system, running water, and soon we will have electricity. All of this is tied into a small older mobile home we bought so we could live where we are building our home. We’ve got the major bases covered seeing as we have running water, a waste/sewage removal system, a roof over our heads and electricity. We have one frill appliance which would be the central air conditioning that came with the house. Beyond that this is sort of a makeshift camping experience. Zippy and I don’t really want to invest much into a temporary mobile home which basically means we don’t want to buy any major appliances we can’t use in our final home. Untill we figure out what we are going to do about this situation we get to live similar to the Amish down the road.
We Lack
And of course we have a bunch of friends that help where they can so this should be far more interesting then difficult. ^_^
I also almost failed to mention my grandma lives about a block away. Life is good. I’ll post about our adventures working around not having common household appliances.
In the MArines we used to take ammo cans and fill them up with some clothes, some water, and some laundry soap, then put the cans in the back of a hummer that was going out on vehicle patrol. It would shake and bounce around all day long and come back clean. Then all you had to do was rinse it out and let it dry. Anything that agitates water, soap, and clothes together will work you just have to figure out what you can make for cheap to do that.

Great advice man. I might even go see how the Amish take care of their laundry. With a little research I’m sure to find a fairly ‘green’ method of handling laundry. Thanks for the tip.
