Garf & I spent the weekend at the property fishing and remodeling the master bedroom of the mobile home. We don’t have electricity hooked up yet so we did everything by human power. We did pretty much everything with a miter box, hand saw, hammer, tape measure and staple gun. I’m learning quite a bit about carpentry in general with this project. Garf and I framed the windows, covered everything in a protective layer of plastic, build frames to reinforce the structure of the home, installed carpet, painted everything floor to ceiling and even installed new light fixtures. We also cut and installed wood trim on/around everything that needed it. I’m happy to say the bedroom is almost done. Garf, Rowdy & I will be heading out there tonight to examine the situation with the rest of the home and finish up the bedroom. In the bedroom we’ve got some smoke detectors to install, a bed to place, and some clothes to hang up in the closet. ^_^ All we are waiting on for electricity is the electric company, Aquila, to install the vertical tube from the meter to the top of the pole and flip the switch. I’m excited!
I have to say the best part about working on the home is when the paint fumes start to get to me, I just close up shop for a while and go fishing on one of the three private stocked pits. Crappie are good..
A big thanks to Garf for helping me out all weekend from sun up to sun down. We used a lot of good looking wood trim he suggested we don’t paint including the window frames. I think the room look 100% better because of it.
Looks like fun. You know if you come out here I will take you trout fishing right? All you have to do is show up. Here are some my kids caught a few weeks ago:

Trout fishing is awesome. I haven’t had a chance to fish/eat any since my last trip to the boundary waters in northern Minnesota. I am going to take you up on that if you are still in the area during the 2008 calendar year. I’ve run around and done too much vacation-like stuff this year but I am very interested in going out there. I’d like to visit/see Portland and fish the lakes and forest in the area. To top it off another guy I know ( Blayne, a friend from Minnesota ) moved out there recently.

I’ll be here. Probably for the rest of my life. I love it out here. Just let me know when so I can be sure to take time off during the time you will be out here.
Will do Andy. I’ll book the whole excursion as far in advance as possible and let you know when I arrive/depart and where I’m staying. Should be a good time.
