I have taken up a mixture of private and group lessons to learn Shin Nagare Karate at Chiles Martial Arts here in Clinton. I’m training with Sensi Eric privately before the group lessons to help accelerate the learning process of the basic skills. The Chiles Martial Arts studio teaches mostly practical martial arts although I’ve expressed an interested to Sensi Eric about learning the more flashy Karate. I will learn good self defense and then progress into more acrobatic (read: less practical) kicks and spins.
I have only been in class a couple hours so I don’t have any pictures or video but that stuff will come soon. I get to learn 8 to 16 hours a month with as much practicing outside the Dojo as I want. I’m excited. I’ll post pictures of my Sensi and some videos after I stop doing everything completely wrong.

After living four years in Japan I know a few of these words. Ahhhhh, did you forget your mom was born there as well. She can’t speak a lick of Japanese I’m sure.
I have a friend who owns a karate studio in Canada, I’ll have to ask her what type of karate they teach. Right now she is in Europe but should return soon.
