Calhoun Colt Show

Josh Houghtelin Holiday, Fun

Zippy and I went to the Calhoun Colt Show today for the first time.

HUGE horses. And these are under a year old I believe.
Huge draft horses

There were lots of little kids handling horses. This is cute.
Cute.

This little kid in yellow was really good with horses.
The little kid in yellow is awesome.

Zippy and I ate a little bit of our first funnel cake. We also ate a deep fried twinkie. My arteries have declared it a national emergency. Awesome stuff.
Funnel Cake Anyone?

I just had my first twinkie not too long ago… I doubt I’m ready to try one deep fried.

A deep fried Twinkie is quite the fluffy snack. Not a snack that should be eaten often. Zippy and I did however eat the whole Twinkie whereas we didn’t finish the funnel cake. I couldn’t imagine eating a whole funnel cake.

I want to ride a horse in next years show Western show. I’ll have to go from zero (unable to ride) to hero (blue ribbon winner). I’m sure it’s possible. ^_^ Zippy and I spent the whole day Sunday under the sun watching the Western show at the Calhoun riding arena. It was pretty awesome.

I saw my first “lawn tractor pull” at the Colt Show a few years ago & now my cousin & I make that the annual Saturday afternoon “thang”. It’s at the arena also.
Try the fried chocolate chip cookie dough next time (if you like chocolate). I think it might have won me over from funnel cakes!
I usually get to my Dad’s Friday nite sometime (I drive in from St.Louis) so maybe we’ll see you there.
It’s awesome people watching.
