Building a stone water pump house.
It’s going to get cold soon so the water pump needs some form of shelter. We have a ton of rocks around our property so I’m going to try and build stone walls around three sides of it. It won’t be a very large structure so I shouldn’t have too many problems with it.
Right now I’m gathering rocks and laying some of the bigger ones to form the base of the small structure.

We had the water pump installed with the whole systern (water tank) system this summer before we moved in. Until recently we hadn’t decided what kind of structure to build around it.

To get things rolling I dug down a bit and leveled the ground as best I could. I also cut a bunch of roots out of the way.

I got some help digging up the ground.

I’ve now started to form rocks around the base. I may pre-form the first few levels before I begin mixing the mortar.

Again, you put my physical industriousness to shame… Looks like it will come together nicely. How are you going to keep it warm? Or are you just shooting for “covered”?

After I get 3 sides done I’m going to build a cool wood/log door on the front of it and put a light inside it. All I have to do is avoid freezing. ^_^

1. dont overload those little trailers, the “bearings” will go bad
2. pre-fitting is good, at least for the larger stones

Hehehe. Good lookin out jesko. I put a couple boards inside the trailer to keep from denting it up too bad. It’s made from some pretty thin metal. I will be keeping the loads fairly light. That first load was a bit excessive.
