Call me silly but up until a few minutes ago I really didn’t know exactly why I couldn’t build with hay. Building with Straw is starting to catch speed nowadays it seems and since I can get hay just as cheap as straw I went straight to the source to find out why nobody used hay to build with.
I asked Andrew Morrison at www.strawbale.com why I couldn’t use hay to build with. He provided an answer straight away in this post. The bottom line is I don’t want my walls to sprout grass so I better use dead, dry, seedless straw to build with and leave the hay to the horses. Thanks again Andrew!
