A while back I posted about a toy RC car my brother was going to send me. Instead of mailing it he brought it to MN so he could show me how it works and give me an extra gallon of nitro fuel for it. We got to play with it a bunch at my moms house. This thing goes fast as hell.

It’s a Savage SS by HPI. When it hits second gear it jumps to around 45 miles per hour. Matt also gave me an extra (hopped up) engine for it and a bunch of extra parts. I’ll need them because it’s nearly impossible to not break something when you’re really having fun with it. And of course the hunt for parts has already begun.

The day I left Minnesota I was itching to play with the truck so when we stopped to stretch and let the dog out at a rest area I got it started and was tearing around the parking lot and abandoned pet area. I ended up managing to run it straight into a big curb almost as fast as it could go. That tore it up quite a bit. I ordered the new parts and got it put back together pretty quick though. After fixing it I burnt off a good half gallon of fuel in it before I ended up catching the side of a tree and wiping out the rest of the non-metal parts on the front passenger side of the truck. I’m going to need my own parts store. ^_^

I have started working on a track to keep the ‘race’ away from trees and other objects I don’t want to tangle with. I’ll put up some pictures when the track looks a little better than it does. It’s more like a path at the moment. I can’t wait to get another one so Zippy and I can race. Playing with nitro RC toys is definitely entertaining and I’m getting much better at tuning that tiny little engine. Now if I would just stop running into stuff I’d be set!
