My buddy Garf just linked me to the google video he posted. Here is the link to the video. This is some footage of us when we were trying to get the pickup unstuck. I posted about it here and here. This was our initial attempt at getting it out ourself before we called in everyone we knew so they could get stuck. I eventually found a wrecking crew that went down and winched it out successfully.
Zippy and I saw the Fair in Grandview off Hwy 71 so we figured we’d stop and enjoy ourselves for a while.
We played some games.
Got Zippy some prizes.
Rode some rides.
And demolished some cotton candy!
Fairs rock! We had an awesome time!
I got out by myself for a while and did some shore fishing on Truman. When I go out fishing I like to Catch & Release. Catfishing from the end of the shore with a setup as simple as a worm, hook and a bobber can’t be beat.
I scooped this little guy up off the middle of road and set him on the edge of a pond out of the way. He gets to live another day! Since Zippy just left for Minnesota to be with her dad for a little while I couldn’t help but to remember living across Edna Lake from her where there were a serious abundance of these little guys. My brother and I used to run around with the neighbor kids collecting up a bunch of these little box turtles and ‘testing’ them out to see which ones were the fastest to bring to Nisswa’s Turtle Races. I think it cost something like $5 to get in and the top prize was $50 for each race I believe. The Turtle Races used to be a highlight of the summer.
I don’t think this guy would come out of his shell to race. I’d put him back and find myself a more proactive turtle. ^_^
I’ve been in this state for 5 years now and have never seen this much snow here! I was extremely happy this morning at the sight of that much snow! I took the day off work and commenced having an awesome time. Commencing with the photos!
Of course I had to get stuck getting out of the alley behind the house. Got out quick though.

I ended up getting stuck a second time. All wheel drive is fun but it doesn’t work if you slide into the ditch. ^_^

What an awesome day! My hand is beat up but short of that there was a lot of fun to be had today! I went through a set of shoes, two sets of boots, a few pairs of gloves, two hoodies, three pairs of pants, more socks then I care to count and am now safely camping in the warmth of my house again. Time to do it again tomorrow!
