Burn My Time

Set up at Faded!

Filed under: Party, Work, People, Fun — Josh Houghtelin @ 2:02 pm

You know. When people are already strapped for time they tend to find ways to create more time and shave off those things that consume time. I’m doing the exact opposite. Some friends of mine run Faded Lounge here in town. It’s a fun Lounge/Club operation. They were talking to another friend of mine that likes to DJ so I jumped in and helped out. Joe (DJ Widescreen) does a killer job at DJing but his tech was in sad shape so we got him lined up proper.

I don’t know a darn thing about DJing (what music to play, when, why, etc) but I really enjoy all this audio stuff. All the gear involved, the tech, sound quality. It’s just fun. I will be back next weekend for sure. Even being strapped for time I can slide in 8:pm - 1:30am Friday & Saturday Nights. There’s no other club I’d rather be dancing in!

Come check us out at Faded Lounge in the Sportsmans!

Dolla Dolla Bills!

I’m a little late on this post but a friend of mine moved down to Louisiana. It was interesting working with em and even more interesting living with em. Be easy down there Zech and stay out of trouble! We’ll miss you, your strangely acceptable speaches on religion, your obsession and ability to spot them chickens and most definitely your style & flow. Keep workin on it.

Makin it rain in the office even! This was the last day he spent in the office.
Goodbye Zech!

Remember! Watch your eyes when ya pop rubber bands! I know for a fact nobody is going to make it rain like you did! Keep throwin 1’s and find a couple good clubs. I’ll G-up & 2-Step down there before long! lol.

F#*$%@( NOISEY SCREEN SAVERS!

Filed under: Rants — Josh Houghtelin @ 1:20 pm

The next laptop I order for work may very well be thrown straight across my office if it’s ‘out of the box’ screensaver makes any noise for any reason! SCREEN SAVERS WERE NOT MEANT TO MAKE NOISE! As a matter of fact! They don’t even serve ANY real purpose anymore.

My request to laptop makers: Quit pre-loading my workstations with noise-making screen savers! PLEASE! I don’t even bitch about all the extra fluff-ware that comes on these things. But a screen saver that makes senseless swooshing noises? You’re pushing the line of stupidity. I haven’t even started bitching about those screen savers on the laptops with built in cameras showing 2 or 3 active videos of what it sees. That’s annoying enough. but noise? come on…

Ok. The machine is off. Back to work.

I finally bought a truck… 1996 F350 XLT 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel Crew Cab

Filed under: Automobiles — Josh Houghtelin @ 4:53 pm

I’ve had my eyes peeled back for quite a while looking for a good “TRUCK”. I got stuck on this one and bought it after looking at quite a few.

It’s a 1996 F350 XLT 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel Crew Cab Long Bed and fits my every criteria for a truck.

Both Zippy and I have cars so we only need a truck for one reason, to be a TRUCK. We needed a big truck that could easily move anything we need it to move be it a horse trailer, 10 tons of hay, a few cords of wood, a golf cart, boats, cars, LP Tanks, etc all while having room for the help, friends, dogs, and extra gear in the cab. Ringing in at $3,800(cash) I believe I got an acceptable deal.

The Body is beat up but it runs great. It’s actually a good thing the body is beat already so I don’t feel bad when I clip a tree stuffing this beast in the woods to collect timber. The important part is the engine runs clean and with the OBDII Programmer that came with it I can easily change the amount of fuel it consumes, how much power it exerts, and other misc tidbits like when the transmission shifts.

I will definitely post when I finally hit something and/or get stuck. I need to get used to not being 3″ off the ground in a go-cart and realize this thing has duallys sticking out the back. I think Zippy already has a pool running to see when (not if) I get this one stuck.

Up early to help out.

Filed under: Funny, People — Josh Houghtelin @ 5:00 am

I knew I left for work at 4:am so I could help a couple lost hunters get their car out of the ditch.

Flash floods and rain = mud, runoff, clay, stuck cars… Wait a second, why did you two drive a car back there?
